After the world premiere in the Seattle International Film Festival, Imtiaz Ahmed Bijon’s film ‘Matir Projar Deshe’ (Kingdom of Clay Subjects) will be premiered at the 15th edition of Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) 2017. The Bangladesh premiere show of the film will be held on January 13 at 7pm at the main auditorium of the National Museum in the capital.
DhakaLive has news that the director of the film Imtiaz Ahmed Bijon and producer Arifur Rahman will attend the premiere show with the film’s cast and crew on January 13.
Popular actors Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Rokeya Prachi, Mahmudur Aninda, Sheuli Aktar, Monir Ahmed Shakil and Chinmoyi Gupta acted in the film.
Produced by Goopy Bagha Productions, ‘Matir Projar Deshe’ is set in rural Bangladesh. In the film the society is shown from the point of view of 10-year-old Jamal, who is struggling to understand the ways that caste and gender affect the strong women in his life.
Note, with the aim of screening the films from 66 countries, the 15th edition of Dhaka International Film Festival will begin on January 12 and continue till January 20.
