Bangladeshi filmmaker Tasmiah Afrin Mou has been invited as a member of jury to the International Film Festival of Nepal (IFFON). She will take part as a jury in the international competition category of the festival, which will be held from January 11 to 15 in Nepal. All Nepal Cine Workers Association has organised the festival for the first time.
Alongside Mou from Bangladesh, other members of the jury committee include director Xie Fei from China, Professor Dr Dragan Milinkovik from France, director Laxminath Sharma and actor Rajesh Hamal from Nepal.
General Secretary of Indian Film Critic Association Premendra Mazumder, who is also the international advisor to IFFON, has selected the jury members for the festival.
To note, Mou-directed short film ‘Kobi Swamir Mrityur Por Amar Jobanbondi’ won Special Jury Award at the 15th Third Eye Asian Film Festival, which took place from December 15 to 22 in Mumbai, India. The film also won ‘Tareque Shahriar Best Independent Shorts’ award at the 14th International Short and Independent Film Festival (ISIFF) last year.
