The 69th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student wing of ruling Awami League, was observed in Chittagong, Rajshahi, Rangpur in Rajshahi cities yesterday.
IN Rajshahi, the BCL has taken various programmes to mark the day, include placing wreaths at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National four leaders at Sadhinata Chhatar in Kumarpara Party office and cutting cakes at the Party office of Rajshahi city unit Awami League.
Later, a procession was also brought out from the Shahid AHM Kamaruzzama Chhatar at 11:30 am which will parade different parts of the
city.
A colourful rally led by lawmaker Akter Zahan, along with leaders and activists of Chhatra League, Rajshahi Zilla unit brought out from Shahid AHM Kamaruzzama intersection (Rail gate) area and after paraded various streets of the city the joined at a discussion meeting at Laxmipur intersection if front of their party office.
On the other hand, along with thousand leaders and activists of Chhatra League, Rajshahi city unit brought out another colourful rally which was led by AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, President of AL Rajshahi city unit and formed Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation from Kumarpara Party office. Later they organized a discussion meeting at Gonokpara intersection of the city. Liton was present at the meeting as the chief guest.
Our Staff reporter adds from Barisal: City and district unit of BCL observed the programmes with various events like paying flower homage at the portrait of Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Sohel Square of the city. Talukdar Md. Eynus MP inaugurated the programmes as chief guest. AL city unit President Advocate Golam Abbas Chowdury Dulal, Secretary Advocate Md. Jahanogir addressed the programme as the special guest. To mark the day a student gathering was held at Sohel Squar city BCL district unit president Sumon Serniabat in the chair.

Speakers of the meeting demanded implement of highest punishment of the war criminals. They also demanded immediate arrest of Jammat leader and identified war criminals. A colorful rally later was brought out from the meeting venue and paraded almost all the main road of the city.
BSS adds from Rangpur: Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) here today observed its 69th founding anniversary amid huge festivity wit h a fresh call for building a developed, secular and technologically advanced modern and digital Bangladesh.
The city and district units of BCL chalked out programmes, including hoisting of national and party flags, playing Bangabandhu’s Historic March 7 Speech, placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu, cutting cakes, rallies, discussions and cultural functions.
The city BCL units brought out separate colourful processions from Darul Fazal Market area, participated by hundreds of the leaders and activists of BCL, Awami League (AL) and its associate organisations in the city streets followed by massive students’ rallies and discussions.
President and General Secretary of Chittagong City Awami League (AL) inaugurated the anniversary programme through the cutting cake at central Shaheed Minar at 12 pm yesterday.
