Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited and Brothers Union shared points in the Manyavar Bangladesh Premier Football League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the capital yesterday.
The 90-minute hard fought encounter ended in a goalless draw. In the first-leg encounter, an 85th minute strike from Augustine Walson steered Brothers Union to a solitary goal win.
In the hard fought 90 minutes encounter, there was everything, attacks, counter attacks, scoring chances but the forwards of either sides could not present a goal.
Both Mohammedan and Brothers, who began the second-leg with high hopes to remain in the title race but dropping points in their previous matches they fell behind.
After the draw, Mohammedan amassed 27 points from 14 matches and from as many matches Brothers’ collection rose to 25 points and Sheikh Jamal were leading with 33 points from 14 matches followed by Sheikh Russel with 29 from 13 matches.
Brothers, who were just three points away from the league leaders at the beginning of the second round fell behind after a 2-2 draw with BJMC and going down to Sheikh Russel.
In fact Russel pushed back both Brothers and Mohammedan from the track with winning against the former duo.
