Abahani Limited returned to winning ways after defeating Team BJMC by 3-1 in the Manyavar Bangladesh Premier Football League yesterday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
Abahani, who dropped points in their previous match against Chittagong Abahani at the MA Aziz Stadium, made it difficult to return in the title race. They are now six points behind leaders Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, who are leading the table with 33 points from 14 matches.
Sunday Chizoba sent Abahani into lead with a close range header in the very third minute with Komol floating a left side cross (1-0).
The Nigerian, who signed in the mid window for Abahani, again blasted to double the margin and scored seven goals in four appearances on 30th minute (2-0).
BJMC, who tried to fight evenly throughout the match, reduced one on 55th minute with Eleta Kingsley finding the net with a powerful free kick just five yards from the top of the box (1-2).
Abahani extended the lead on 60th minute when Nasir scored the third with a solo run down the right side and edged past a defender before powering a right footer into the near post (3-1).
