A Bangladeshi cattleman was shot to death and two others were injured allegedly by BSF (Border Security Force) members of India respectively on Kushkhali frontier in Satkhira sadar upazila and Loraighat frontier of Jhenidah early yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Mukul Hossain, 35, of Hawalkhali village under Satkhira sadar upazila.
Abu Raihan, chairman of Kushkhali Upazila Parishad, said BSF troops from Dubli camp opened fire on a group of Bangladeshi cattlemen while they were returning home with their cattle around 3am, leaving Mukul dead on the spot.
Emdad Sheikh, officer-in-charge of Satkhira Sadar Police Station, said they searched for the body, after being informed, but could not find it.
Md Ali, another cattleman accompanying Mukul, said he carried the dead body and kept it on the embankment of Kushkhali.
Contacted, Deputy Commanding Officer Major Mozammel Haque of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)-38 Battalion said they have heard the incident and wereinquiring about the killing.
In Jhenidah, one Abdur Rashid and his nephew were shot and picked up allegedly by BSF on Loraighat frontier under Moheshpur upazila early yesterday. But the BGB officials has denied of any such incidents.
