The month-long ‘17th Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh 2016’--which drew the attention of artists, art lovers and common people from home and abroad--will end today. Organised by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, the art biennale was put on display at the National Art Plaza of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital’s Segun Bagicha. Along with the participating artists, the artists from various age groups will attend the closing ceremony today at 4pm.
Beginning from December 1, the month-long biennale featured 434 artworks by 298 artists from 54 countries. A total of 260 artworks by 150 artists from Bangladesh and other 53 countries were put on display in the exhibition.
People from different strata of life, including artists, students, service holders, housewives and others visited the venue every day to view the artworks, and they also praise the initiative of the organisers for arranging the biennale in such a large scale.
