1 missing in trawler capsize in Pirojpur

A person went missing as a trawler capsized in the Kourikhara canal of Kourikhara village in Nesarabad upazila yesterday, reports UNB from Pirojpur.
The victim was identified as Shahidul Islam, 50, of the Kourikhara village.
The Swarupkathi-bound trawler with 25 passengers on board sank in the canal around 7:30 am following a collision with another wood-laden trawler, said Monirul Islam Monir, officer-in-charge of Nesarabad Police Station.
All but Shahidul managed to swim ashore, he said.
On information, divers from Barisal rushed in to rescue the missing person, said OC.
