Abducted man rescued; 3 held

Detectives in a drive rescued a kidnapped man from Ashekpur in the district town on Thursday, after two days of his kidnapping, reports UNB.
Police arrested three people; Shahidul Haq, Abdul Majid and Joynal Abedin—in connection with the kidnapping.
Asaduzzaman Titu, sub-inspector of Tangail DB police, said Rabiul Islam of Ghatail upazila was kidnapped by miscreants on December 27.
Later, the kidnapers made a phone call to the family members of Rabiul and demanded Tk 5 lakh as ransom for his release.
Rabiul’s family then informed the DB police about and as per their directives, Rabiul’s family agreed to pay the ransom money.After negotiation, the kidnappers asked Rabiul’s family members to come to a certain place and receive Rabiul in exchange of money.When they arrived at Ashekpur, the DB police rescued Rabiul and arrested three kidnappers while another managed to flee.
Police also recovered a revolver from their possession. Two cases were filed.
