The month-long 22th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF)-2017 is going to kick off at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital from Sunday.
The fair, jointly organised by Export Promotion Bureau and the Ministry of Commerce, is scheduled to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday.
According to the sources of Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) this event would project quality products of Bangladesh to the visitors from home and abroad.
The local producers in the remote areas of Bangladesh who does not have financial strength to participate in international trade fairs will have the opportunity to display their products to the buyer from abroad at this fair.
On the other hand, the overseas participants would have the opportunity to display their products to the consumer of Bangladesh where the market of consumer goods is expanding.
The foreign participants will also have the opportunity to display their state-of-the-art technology to the local producers and exporters.
Besides, the participants will be able to identify business contacts with prospect of entering into subsequent business negotiation.
Visiting venue of the trade fair, this correspondent found that construction work of stalls and pavilion and necessary infrastructure is going on in full swing.
EPB sources said a total of 21 foreign stalls including USA, India, Thailand, Turkey and Malaysia will take part in the fair this year.
Besides, a total of 555 stalls will be set up for the fair.
Member secretary of DITF Rezaul Karim said all construction work will be completed by Saturday.
