Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained 28 people from Benapole Bazar as they entered Bangladesh from India illegally through a border point here on Wednesday. The detainees, including 12 men, 10 women and six children, are reportedly residents of different villages in Narail and Khulna districts. Tipped off, a BGB team conducted a drive in the bazaar at noon and detained them when they entered the Bangladesh territory without valid travel documents, said commanding officer of BGB battalion-26 Lt Col Jahangir Hossain. Later, BGB members handed them over to Benapole Port Police Station. A case was filed in this regard.
