Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), an apex industry body representing leading vehicle and vehicular engine manufacturers in India, wants to help Bangladesh have strong vehicle and component manufacturing bases in Bangladesh, says a press release.

The government of Bangladesh is very keen to have an automotive component manufacturing base.  “We are closely working on the matter,” SIAM Deputy Director General Sugato Sen told reporters at a press conference yesterday.
In an effort to unite automotive industry players from Bangladesh and India, SIAM will host the first-ever three-day Indo-Bangladesh Automotive Show in the capital on February 2-4 next year.
The show will showcase the latest products manufactured by the members of the SIAM.
“We have many things to show. This show will also provide huge opportunities for the automotive industry in both countries to partner together for creating a strong auto and auto-component manufacturing base in Bangladesh,” Sen said.
He said the show will provide a unique opportunity for automotive players to come together and explore their combined potential from the point of view of expanding the market as well as establish vehicles and component manufacturing and assembly bases in Bangladesh.
Federation of Bangladesh of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) President Abdul Matlub Ahmad, Bangladesh Motorcycle Assemblers and Manufacturers Association (BMAMA) President Matiur Rahman, Bangladesh Automobiles Assemblers and Manufacturers Association (BAAMA) President Hafizur Rahman Khan, second secretary (Press, Information, Culture) at Indian High Commission in Dhaka Tseten Nordon Cargyal and SIAM Director Debasish Majumder, among others, spoke on the occasion.
