DU Biochemistry Olympiad Mar 11
The Biochemistry and Molecular Biology department of Dhaka University (DU) will organize the 8th Biochemistry Olympiad on March 11, 2017.
Detailed information including registration forms and syllabus are available on the website www.biochemolympiad.org, or at the department office, a DU release said.
Malaysian delegation meets DU VC
A four-member delegation led by Prof Mohammad Bin A Razak, President of Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences, Malaysia on Wednesday called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique at his latters office on the campus.
Others members of the delegation were Prof Nasaruddin Abdul Aziz, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Asia Metropolitan University, Prof Amaluddin Ahmad, Deputy Dean of the same university and Dr Mohammad Jahidul Islam, Assistant Prof of Cyberjaya University College, a DU press release said. During the meeting, they discussed about various bilateral issues including strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs on medical science which are being conducted by Dhaka University, the Asia Metropolitan University, Malaysia and the Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences, Malaysia. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) among these academic institutions was signed on December 27, 2016 aiming at fostering research collaboration, the release added. They also stressed on the need of exchanging more teachers and students between the two universities. Principal of Dhaka Medical College and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof Md Ismail Khan was present at the meeting, among other, the release added.
RU 1st year classes begin Jan 17
Rajshahi: The classes for the first year honours courses under the academic session of 201-17 of Rajshahi University (RU) will begin January 17. RU public relation officer Prof Mosiur Rahman confirmed it yesterday through a press release. RU authorities have been completed all procedures of admission of that academic session, he added. Mentionable, a total of 1,77,543 candidates took part for the tests against 4,713 seats under nine facultys and two institutions on October 26 at Rajshahi University (RU). Intra-university business plan competition held
The grand finale of ULAB Intra-University Business Plan Competition, Fall-2016 was held at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) recently, says a press release. The event was organised by ULAB School of Business and ULAB Business Club. ULAB Business School aims to encourage students in self-employment in their professional lives.
The purpose of this event was to educate and provide an experimental opportunity to present the ideas of the students. A Total of 62 teams applied for the competition and after 2 levels of screening test, 22 teams were selected for the first round. Top 5 teams from the first round competed in the grand finale and team Green Thinkers became the champion. Team Reality Escapers and team Medico became 1st runners-up and 2nd runners- up respectively. The judges of the grand finale were Shawkat Kamal, Associate Professor of ULAB Business School; Sadad Adnan Ahmad, Chief Marketing Officer of Beximco Communications Ltd.; and Nurul Alam Chowdhury, Chairman of Swadesh Insurance and Executive Director of Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA). Also, Professor Imran Rahman, Vice Chancellor (Acting) of ULAB, Professor Milan Kumar Bhattacharjee, Treasurer of ULAB, and other faculty members were present in the event.
