The results of Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dhakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations were published on Thursday.
In Chittagong board, the pass rate and number of Grade Point Average (GPA)-5 achievers have increased at JSC examinations in last five years. This year the pass rate also increased by 5.27 compared to last year.
In Barisal Education Board, girls have done better than boys in this year’s JSC Examinations in terms of GPA-5.
Staff  Reporter, Ctg adds: A total of 90.75 per cent students in Junior School Certificate (JSC) examinations under Chittagong Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education passed this year and the success rate is 5.27 per cent more than last year's. 
Chittagong Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education authority said this year the passing rate has been increased as the students have done well in mathematics and English compared to the past years.
The total number of students and the pass rate and the numbers of GPA achievers increased at JSC examinations under this board in the last five years.
In 2012, the pass rate was 78.35, in 2013 it was 86.13, in 2014 was 84.27 and in 2015 it was 85.48 percent, while this year in 2016 it increased to 90.75.
Not only pass rate but also the number successful students are increased sharply. In 2012, the successful students in JSC was only 
1, 04,578, it has increased in 2016 and the number is 1, 62,524.  In 2013 it was 1, 40,579, in 2014 it was 1, 52,608, in 2015 it was 1,43, 939 students.
The number of GPA-5 achievers has also increased in the last five years. In 2012 it was 3,531, in 2016 it reached in 14,135. In 2013 it was in 14,105 and in 2014 and 2015 it decreased to 10,487 and 12,268 respectively. At the same time the number of fail students has been decreased from 17,610 in 2012 to 13,383 in 2016.
This year the examination was held in 211 examinations centres while a total of 1,209 schools took part in the examinations. Cent percent students from 192 schools passed this year. 
Examination controller of Chittagong education board also said if any mistake was found in the result, they encourage application for amendment of the mistakes within 30 days and for re-examination application via SMS.
Staff Reporter, Barisal adds: A total of 97.38 per cent students passed the JSC examinations under Barisal Education Board this year. 
According to the results declared yesterday,  2976 registered students dropped and 3773 examinees failed in the JSC exam under BEB this year. 
A total 1, 52, 570 received GPA-5 under this education board.
Girls have done better than boys in this year’s JSC Examinations in terms of GPA-5 in Barisal Education Board.
A total of 9910 female examinees (97.75%) out of 5, 97, 695  have received GPA-5, whereas 5, 660 male students (96.98%) out of 54,052 have received GPA-5 in the examinations this year. 
Sources said record number of 919 institutions scored cent percent pass in second JSC examinations under Barisal Board this year.
Prof  Md Anoarul Azim, controller of examinations BEB, claiming the JSC result as satisfactory said a few number of the examinees were absent in the JSC exam hall under BEB.
Barisal Cadet College with cent percent pass rate and 50 GPA-5 out of 50 examinees placed on top of the best list in JSC exam 2016 under Barisal Education Board.
