Relay transport brings new businesses

A batch of 62-ton alloy steel was transported to Vientiane, Laos from Mengzi, China, via Honghe Logistics, a branch of the Kunming Railway Bureau, ushering in a new era of relay transport between China, Vietnam and Laos.

The cargo traveled some 1,000 kilomtres over the past 12 days, first to Vietnam via the age-old metre-gauge railway, then to Laos’ Vientiane via road transport. The entire process and transport costs were tracked in real time, marking an innovation in international logistics.

According to the manager of the International Logistics Department at Honghe Logistics Co., Ltd., the relay transport is one of their new businesses featuring one-stop logistic services. These include cargo transport, customs clearance, info tracking, cargo transit and delivery.
