Bangladeshi short film awarded in Mumbai

Bangladeshi short film ‘Kobi Swamir Mrityur Por Amar Jobanbondi’ won Special Jury Award at the 15th Third Eye Asian Film Festival, which took place from December 15 to 22 in Mumbai, India.

The award was handed over by the renowned film director Shyam Bengal at the closing ceremony held on Tuesday at the Rabindra Natya Mandir. 
Aka, ‘The Statement After My Poet Husband’s Death’ is written and Directed by Tasmiah Afrin Mou and produced by Rubaiyat Hossain. Had its world premiere last month at the Festival Tous Courts in France, the film also won the Tareque Shahriar Best Short Film Award at the Dhaka International Short and Independent Film Festival. Last week, the film was also screened at the Festival ZUBROFFKA, a prime short film festival in Poland.
15th Third Eye Film festival was inaugurated with the Internationally-acclaimed Bangladeshi director Rubaiyat Hossain’s film ‘Under Construction’. Organised by Asian Film Foundation, the festival this year honoured the veteran filmmaker Govind Nihalani with the prestigious Film Culture Award.
