Two killed as train rams auto-rickshaw in Ctg

A woman and her daughter were killed and two others injured as Chittagong-city bound university shuttle train hit a CNG-run auto rickshaw at Sholoshahar Bashar market rail-crossing in Chittagong yesterday.
The deceased were Manowara Begum, 35, wife of Azizul Haue, and her daughter Afrin, 17. The injured were Mon Begum, 55, sister-in-law of Manowara and Ayesha,12, daughter of Manowara, all are hailing from Khulna Sadar Upazila. Eyewitness said the CNG-run auto rickshaw was trying to cross the level crossing hastily and a train hit the auto rickshaw in the area around 3.10am yesterday.
Police recovered the body of Manowara from the spot while three others were sent to the hospital with critical injury, said SM Shaidul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of GRP police station Chittagong.
