A fire broke out at Karnaphuli Garden City shopping complex in the capital’s Kakrail area yesterday, reports UNB.
Inspector Manirul Islam, duty officer of Fire Service Control Room, said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at a shop on the 3rd floor of the 14-storey commercial-cum-apartment building around 9:08 am and spread soon. On information, seven firefighting units rushed in and doused the flame after 25 minutes of frantic efforts around 9:50 am.
However, no casualty was reported.
