Stop violent politics for countrys progress: Planning Minister

Urging the opposition parties to refrain from pursuing violent politics, Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal yesterday said maintaining brotherly relations is very important for accelerating Bangladesh’s graduation to a middle-income country, reports UNB. The minister made the remark while inaugurating an ICT fair at Comilla Sadar Dakkhin Upazila Complex, said a Planning Ministry handout.
“The economy is now marching forward in an irresistible pace by the grace of Allah. Today, maintaining fraternity is essential to accelerate economic progress further. The people of the country need to show deep affection to each other irrespective of their opinions. There should be no violence any more,” he said.
Mustafa Kamal asked the opposition parties to promote violence-free politics with a view to equally reaching the country’s economic benefits to all.
Noting that the economy these days determines the politics, the planning minister said politics should be used as a tool of economic development.
The planning minister said all the people of the country have contributions in attaining the status of the lower middle-income country.
Local Awami League leaders, including Upazila parishad chairman Mohammad Sarwar, spoke at the inaugural function, presided over by local UNO Mohammad Abdul Awal.
