Customs officials seized 100 gold bars, weighing around 11.6kg, from a flight of Qatar Airways at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport yesterday morning.
Sohel Rahman, Joint Commissioner of Dhaka Customs office, said tipped off, the customs officials searched flight no QR 640 which landed at the airport around 10:47am and found the gold bars under a passenger seat in an abandoned condition. The market price of the seized gold is worth Tk 5.40 crore. However, no one was arrested in this connection.
