Woman killed ‘by husband’

A housewife was hacked to death allegedly by her husband at Masimpur in the district town yesterday.The deceased was identified as Asma Begum, 26, wife of Rezaul Islam of Tala upazila in Satkhira district.
Quoting local people, police said Rezaul along with his wife Asma and nine labourers rented a house owned by Rupa Begum in the area eight months ago and used to live there.
On Friday morning, Alamgir, an inmate of the house, found Asma lying in a pool of blood in the room while her husband missing.On information, police recovered the body and sent it to sadar hospital morgue, said Masumur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.Police detained nine labourers living with the couple for interrogation.
