Regional cooperation stressed to stop child trafficking

Regional cooperation and solidarity among the South Asian countries should be strengthened to stop child trafficking in the region, speakers said yesterday. They also expressed concern over the increase in child trafficking in South Asian countries and called for enacting laws in the respective countries in tune with their national plans. The views came at a programme organized by Social and Economic Enhancement Programme (SEEP) at Dhaka Reporters Unity.
The speakers also called for utilising the information technology to control child trafficking through strengthening online coordination and virtual networking among the countries.
Executive Director of INCIDIN Bangladesh AKM Masud Ali, Executive Director of SEEP Fazlul Haque Chowdhury, Executive Director of BNWLA Advocate Salma Ali, among others, spoke at the programme.
