Bangladesh cricket team reached at Christchurch from Whangarei just one day after the end of the one-off 50-over practice match yesterday. The visiting side will start and end their formal campaign against the hosts New Zealand from Christchurch, which will host the first one day and last Test of the tour.
On Monday (December 26), they will get down in the field against the Black Caps in the first one day of the three-match series at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch.
The second and third match will be played at the Saxton Oval in Nelson on Decemebr 29 and 31 respectively. This will be the first bilateral series for Tigers at overseas condition after around two years. Last time Bangladesh went to New Zealand to play a full series in 2010.
The disciples of Chandika Hathurusingha didn’t hold their training session in Christchurch yesterday. But they did the team meeting before their dinner at the team hotel.
After the conclusion of the ODI series, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and company will take on the home side in the three-match T20 series.
They will play their first T20 at the McLean Park in Napier on January 3. They will next play the second and the third T20 at the same venue of the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on January 6 and 8 correspondingly.
The visitors will play Test at the fag end of their New Zealand tour. The first Test will be played at the Basin Reserve in Wellington in between January 12-16.
The second and last Test will be held at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch from January 20-24. Bangladesh so far played 11 Tests against New Zealand, where the Kiwis won the bulk of the eight Tests and three had been ended in draws. But the Tigers faced-off the Black Caps 25 times in one day, where the tourists conceded loss to 17 occasions and won eight times. New Zealand won four out of four in T20.
