Upazila vice chairman held

Comilla: Police arrested a vice chairman of Meghna upazila from Pararbandha area of the upazila on Wednesday evening on charge of creating obstacles in a government work, reports UNB. The arrestee was identified as Md Tajul Islam. Md Saidur Rahman, sub-inspector of Meghna Police Station, said Meghna upazila vice chairman Tajul Islam, also the organizing secretary of upazila unit Awami League, created obstacles in the construction of a culvert in Karimabar area. Anil Chandra, office assistant of the upazila project implementation office, filed a case against Tajul in this connection, added the SI. Later, police arrested the accused from Pararbandha area around 7pm.
