Youth leadership training held

A four-day training programme titled ‘Active Citizens Youth Leadership’, jointly organized by British Council and The Hunger Project-Bangladesh, Rajshahi region, concluded at the upazila complex hall room in Charghat upazila of Rajshahi district yesterday. A total of 32 youths including twelve females participated in the training course. The slogan of the training was, ‘Locally Engaged, Globally Connected’.
Trainees learnt how to develop themselves as active citizens and about their fundamental rights as mentioned in the constitution at the programme. They learnt about their identities and their own culture through participatory method. They were also apprised of the free courses of computer and English language learning through The Independent English Language and Computer Club in Rajshahi. Active Citizen Facilitators Jannatun Nessa Sharmin, Kawsar Billah, Mustafizur Rahman and Ashraful Islam Sarker, Area Coordinator of Hunger Project, Rajshahi Subrata Kumar Paul and Rashid Rusho, correspondent of The Independent, Rajshahi Bureau conducted the training.
