Khulna stun Barisal in NCL

Ashiquzzaman once again showed his fierce bowling display to enable Khulna Division to notch an overwhelming ten-wicket victory over table toppers Barisal Division on the third day of Tier- 1 four-day National Cricket League held yesterday at BKSP ground in Savar, reports BSS.
Ashiquzzaman claimed six wickets in the second innings to ensure his team's victory after Khulna Division easily chase down the paltry target making 15 runs keeping all their ten wickets intact.
Mehedi Hasan and Hasanuzzaman completed the formally to remain unbeaten with 11 and 0 runs.
Earlier, Barisal Division resumed their second innings on the third day at overnight score of 10 for no loss and finally all out for 211, setting a winning target of 12 runs for Khulna Division. Monir Hossain top scored for Barisal with 70 runs followed by Al Amin (37) and Tawhidul (30).
Ashiquzzaman caused the major damage as he claimed six Barisal's wickets giving away 57 runs. He was well supported by Ziaur Rahman and Biswanath Halder, who both picked up two wickets apiece conceding 27 and 47 runs respectively.
Ashiquzzaman of Khulna was named the player of the match for his brilliant bowling performance.

Dhaka Division beat Dhaka Metropolis by five wickets in the Tier 2 four-day National Cricket League held on Thursday at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
Chasing a winning target of 105 runs set by Dhaka Metropolis, Dhaka Division started their second innings in the afternoon and reached home making 106 for the loss of five wickets.
Opener Joyraz Sheikh (30) and Taibur Rahman (27n.o) were the notable scorers for Dhaka Division.
Abu Haider was the pick of Metropolis bowler as he grabbed four wickets giving away 42 runs.
Earlier, Dhaka Metropolis resumed their second innings on the third day at overnight score of 27 for 4 and finally all out for 125 runs, setting a paltry winning target of 105 runs for Dhaka Division. Mehrab Hossain was the highest scorer for Metropolis with 39 runs followed by Shadman Islam 28 and Abu Haider 14.
Skipper Mohammad Sharif was the most successful bowlers among the Dhaka Division bowlers as he picked up three wickets conceding 24 runs. He was well supported by Taibur Rahman and Sahadat Hossain, who both bagged two wickets each giving away 13 and 22 runs respectively.
