A business delegation from Uzbekistan yesterday met Textile and Jute Minister Muhammad Imaj Uddin Pramanik at the ministry’s conference room at Bangladesh Secretariat, reports BSS.
During their courtesy meeting, they discussed issues related to bilateral trade and investment along with matters on textile and jute sectors and their progress, according to an official release.
The visiting Uzbek delegation members said the relations between Bangladesh and Uzbekistan are not only economic but also historic and Uzbekistan believes that Bangladesh is its friendly country.
The delegation comprised Deputy Governor of Samarkhand Zone Abdu Majid, Deputy Chief of
Water and Agriculture Development Feroz Abilav, Head of Administration of Argot District Mamat Turdiv, Director of Regional Branch of National Bank of Uzbe-kistan Tursunv and others.
The minister said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is very cordial about textile and jute industries, adding that, “With Sheikh Hasina’s sincere efforts and dynamic leadership, Bangladesh is now becoming a global brand in the textile sector.”
