Bangladesh pace sensation Mustafizur Rahman returns to one day squad after over four-month injury layoff. Along with him, face bowler Rubel Hossain also comes back to the fold after the end of the Afghanistan series.

Leg-spinning all-rounder Tanvir Haider, paceman Shubashis Roy and off-spinner Mehedi Hassan Miraj make the cut as the uncapped members of the team.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced a 15-man squad for the first one day of the three-match series along with the one-off one day warm up against New Zealand yesterday.
Before stepping into the ODI series, Bangladesh XI will play a one-off 50-over practice match against New Zealand XI to be held at the Cobham Oval (New) in Whangarei on December 22.
The visiting side will therefore start their major campaign against the hosts New Zealand in the first one day of the three-match series at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch on 26 December.
BCB national selection panel chairman Minhajul Abedin Nannu through a media release said that they do not want to bring any change in the backbone of the squad that became successful over last two-year spell.
“We have kept the backbone of a settled squad that has been very successful over the last two years. But at the same time it is also important to get players in who we believe have plenty of potential to perform at the highest level,” said Minhajul Abedin.
The panel chairman said that they have picked Tanvir, Shubashis and Miraj to provide a discrete dimension to our bowling attack.
“Tanvir has been a consistent performer in domestic cricket and will give a different dimension to our attack as he is a genuine leg-spinner. He has also impressed the coaching team during the camp in Australia,” Nannu said of Tanvir Haider.
“Shubashis hits the deck and can extract bounce and movement off the wicket. He can be quite a handful in the conditions in New Zealand,” he said of Shubashis Roy.
“Miraz hasn’t played one day yet but has all the makings of a very useful limited overs all-rounder. We have reasons to believe that he has the ability to serve Bangladesh in all formats and is one for the future,” the chairman said of Miraj
Bangladesh who will play the one-off practice match are now in Whangarei, where they were accorded a reception by Bangladeshi immigrants in New Zealand under the banner of Bangladesh Association of New Zealand (BANZI) yesterday. All the members of Bangladesh team attended the reception.
