Today is the third death anniversary of celebrated actor-director Khaled Khan, popularly known as Juboraj. To pay tribute on his third death anniversary, a local troupe Hotat Natya Sampraday from Mirzapur is organizing a three-day theatre festival at his native village Mirzapur, Tangail.
With the slogan Amra Natok Banai Alor Khoje, the festival will begin on December 23 and run till December 25. Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will be present at the festival as chief guest. During the three-day festival three theatrical productions will be staged. Theatre troupe Prachyanaut will stage Kinu Kaharer Theatre while Oboyob Natyadal will stage Pheriwala and Theatre Art Unit will bring their production Amena Sundori on stage during the festival. Besides, Hotat Natya Sampraday will stage their play Sangjatra at the festival.
To note, Khaled Khan (February 9, 1958 December 20, 2013) joined the theatre group Nagorik Natya Sampradaya in 1978. He acted in over 30 plays of the group and directed over 10. His notable acting performances in theatre production are Dewan Gazir Kissa, Nurul Diner Sara Jibon, Galileo, Roktokorobi and Dorpon. He had also directed Muktodhara, Putul Khela, Kalshondhay, Master Builder, Khudito Pashan and many more. He received numerous awards for his contributions in theatre, including the IT Theatre Award 2013. Khaled Khan breathed his last on December 20 in 2013.
