A medicine trader was stabbed to death allegedly by his friend in Bhaluka upazila of Mymensingh on Sunday night.The victim was Rezaul Karim Rajib, 25, of College Road area in the upazila.
Quoting local people, Md Hazrat Ali, officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Bhaluka police station said Rajib, an alleged drug addict bought heroin from his friend Tushar, also a drug addict and its trader a few days ago. As the price of the heroin was less than the paid money, Rajib allegedly locked in an altercation with Tushar and his friends over the issue in College Road area of Bhaluka upazila headquarters on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway around 7.30 pm, said the OC. At one stage of altercation, Rajib punched Tushar, police sources said.
Later, Tushar came back with a knife and stabbed Rajib in his back indiscriminately, killing him on the spot, police sources said.
On information, police rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police detained three youths identified as Titu, Dulal and Rasel, all alleged drug addicts, for interrogation.
Victim’s father lodged a case with Bhaluka Police Station accusing Tushar and his four friends including the detainees for their alleged involvement in the killing.
