Seminar on parenting held at BRAC University
The Counseling Unit of BRAC University organised a seminar on Parenting at the university’s auditorium on Saturday, says a press release.
The main objectives of the seminar were to promote a healthy relationship between parent-child, and overcome barriers of parent-child communication.
Renowned counseling psychologist Dr Mehtab Khanam, Professor, Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, University of Dhaka, was the key speakers at the seminar.
Workshop on screen writing held at CUB
School of Communications, Canadian University of Bangladesh, jointly organised a day-long workshop on ‘Screen Writing for Short Film’ recently with Biralpakhi Cine Club, says a press release.
Ishtiaque Zico, president of Biralpakhi Cine Club was the facilitator of the workshop.
30 students participated in the workshop. Types, stories and languages of shot film were discussed in the workshop. Pro-Vice-chancellor Prof Dr James Gomez, Canadian University of Bangladesh inaugurated the workshop and Tusher Nabi Khan, coordinator, School of Law and Lecturer, Film and TV conducted the event.
DIU will develop 500 new entrepreneurships
Entrepreneurship Department of Daffodil International University is going to develop 500 new Entrepreneurs (30per cent women entrepreneurship) in the country within next 5 years under the project titled “Are You the Next Startup?”, says a press release.
This was informed at a “Meet the Press” held at the National Press Club in the capital yesterday.Under this project best quality Young stars will be find out from all over the country and will be provided 100per cent scholarship as well as all sorts of logistic supports and cooperation will be extended towards them until and unless becoming a successful entrepreneur.

‘Transform population into human resources’
RAJSHAHI: State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, MP, said the present government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is pledged bound to transform the population into competent human resources, reports BSS.
He termed the country's population as wealth and said the educational institutions including universities have a vital role in supplementing the government's endeavor to this effect as human resource development is very much important for bolstering the country's economy.
The state minister was inaugurating a two-day international conference titled "Population, Health, Environment and Sustainable Development: Issues and Challenges" at Senate Bhaban of Rajshahi University (RU) here on Saturday as chief guest.
RU's Department of Population Science and Human Resource Development organised the conference participated by more than 100 teachers, scientists and researchers concerned from home and abroad.
With RU Vice-chancellor Prof Mijanuddin in the chair, Pro-VC Prof Chowdhury Sarwar Jahan, Treasurer Prof Sayen Uddin and chairman of the department Prof Mustafizur Rahman also spoke.
