Tigers reach New Zealand

Bangladesh cricket team reached New Zealand following a three-hour-long flight from Sydney via Auckland yesterday.

This will be their first full-fledged series at overseas grounds after over the last two-year hiatus. Last time they played full series against West Indies in 2014.
Before heading into New Zealand, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) arranged a week-long conditioning camp in Australia so that they could make their adaptation with the conditions and seam and bouncy wickets, which are akin to New Zealand.
As part of their training camp, they play two practice matches against two stronger teams of the Australian Big Bash-Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder on December 14 and 16 respectively after some practice sessions at the Blacktown International Sports Park, Sydney since December 11.
The visiting side won the first practice match against Sydney Sixers by seven wickets without fielding their key players likes of iconic all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, swashbuckling opener Tamim Iqbal, all-rounder Mahmudullah Riyad, who struck back-to-back century in the World Cup Down Under in 2015.
But the team lost the second match against Sydney Thunders by six wickets though they fielded the side, where the in-form trio and Mashrafe Bin Mortaza were absent.
Tigers could not practice in their last day (Saturday) due to the intervention of the downpours. But Bangladesh players believe that they dovetailed themselves with Australian conditions what was important for them before going into the main series against New Zealand at their home conditions.
Bangladesh will play two Tests, three ODIs as many as T20I matches against the Black Caps. But they will play a one-off practice match (50-over), which will be held at the Kobham Oval at Whangarei on December 22.
The visiting side will start their New Zealand campaign with one day and finish the tour with Test.
The tourists will get down against the New Zealanders in the first one day at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch on December 26.
They will play their second and third match to be held at the Saxton Oval in Nelson on December 29 and 31 respectively.
Just two days after, the visitors will take on the Black Caps in the first T20I at the McLean Park in Napier on January 3.
Thereafter, they will play the second and third matches against the hosts at the Bay Oval, Mount Maungauni on January 6 and 8 correspondingly.
At the last quarter of the tour, both the teams will play Test which will be held on Basin Reserve, Wellington and Hagley Oval, Christchurch on January 12-16 and 20-24.
Bangladesh are touring to New Zealand after six-year hiatus. Last time Tigers led by Shakib Al Hasan went to New Zealand to play the series against the Black Caps.
