The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday arrested four graft suspects, including a Rajuk official, in separate graft cases.
ACC deputy director Md Nasir Uddin of its head office arrested former assistant director of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) Iqbal Parveez from the capital’s Segunbagicha area, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB. Earlier in the day, the ACC filed a case against him with Wari Police Station for allegedly accumulating illegal wealth worth over Tk 2.62 crore. ACC assistant director Mahbubul Alam arrested former manager (operation) of Meghna Petroleum Limited and in-charge of its Fatullah Depot Shamsul Arefin Chowdhury and deputy manager of the same depot Kazi Abu Zafar from the capital.
On Sunday, the national anti-graft agency filed a case against them for allegedly misappropriating fuel worth Tk 66 lakh from the petroleum company. Besides, ACC deputy assistant director Md Sharif Uddin of its Mymensingh zila office arrested office assistant of Gafargaon Upazila Land Office Md Zahirul Islam from Mymensigh town for allegedly amassing illegal wealth.
