Prosecution at the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 yesterday submitted report on progress in investigation against three alleged Razakars from Narail.
"We submitted the report and pleaded for three months time for submitting the formal charge in the case and accepting our plea, the two-member tribunal adjourned the hearing till February 15, 2017," prosecutor Rezia Sultana Chaman told BSS.
The three accused are Abdul Wahab, Omar Ali Sheikh and Khandaker Babul. Of the three, Babul is yet to be arrested.
Wahab was arrested from village Fuleswar under Sadar upazila on December 10, 2015, while Omar was arrested from Borashula area under Narail city on February 2, 2016, under different cases.
The ICT-1 on May 3, 2016, showed Wahab, 70, and Omar, 60, arrested in connection with war crimes case. According to the locals, the three acted as the main killers for local Razakar commander Solaiman, earning the name of Jallad. They used to slaughter their victims and throw their bodies in river Chitra.
"For killing a single person, Wahab, Omar and their men used to take Taka 10 per head and some good food. At the later stage of the war, Wahab and Omar turned more violent and used to raid houses, shops, loot those, put fire to those installations. They raped many women in the locality," Freedom Fighter and former district commander of Muktijoddha Council Najir Hossain Mollah, told BSS.
