Bangladesh Cricket Team will fly for New Zealand today after finishing the week-long conditioning camp in Sydney, Australia.
From Sydney via Auckland they will reach at Whangarei, in where the visiting side will play their one-off practice match against New Zealand XI before going into the main series. The 50-over match will be held at the Kobham Oval on December 22.
The visiting side started their practice at the Blacktown International Sports Park in Sydney on December 11. They got a day break in their practice session. They played two T20 practice matches against Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder on December 14 and 16 respectively.
Although the team won the opener (against Sydney Sixers) by seven wickets they lost the second against Sydney Thunders by six wickets. Then the rain intervened in their last day (Saturday) practice session.
Overall, the last quarter of the conditioning camp in Sydney has not been better for the Tigers. But Bangladesh players believe that they mostly dovetailed themselves with Australian conditions, which are akin to New Zealand conditions. Bangladesh will play two Tests, three ODIs as many as T20 matches against the Black Caps. The series will be started on December 26 and end on January 24. Tigers will start their New Zealand campaign with one day and finish the tour with Test.
The visitors will get down against the New Zealanders in the first one day at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch on December 26. The second and third match will be held at the Saxton Oval in Nelson on December 29 and 31 respectively.
Just two days after, the tourists will take on the Black Caps in the first T20I at the McLean Park in Napier on January 3.
Thereafter, they will play the second and third matches against the hosts at the Bay Oval, Mount Maungauni on January 6 and 8 correspondingly.
At the last quarter of the tour, both the teams will play Test which will be held on Basin Reserve, Wellington and Hagley Oval, Christchurch on January 12-16 and 20-24.
Bangladesh are going to tour to New Zealand after six-year hiatus. Last time Tigers led by Shakib Al Hasan went to New Zealand to play the series against the Black Caps. But they could not do fare well in any occasion.
