Int’l conference on ICCIT begins at NSU today
North South University (NSU) is organising a 3-day long International Conference on Computer and Information Technology (ICCIT) 2016 form today, says a press release. 
This conference will end on Tuesday. Researchers and professionals from both academia and industry from USA, Japan, China, Denmark, Norway, Pakistan and India along with Bangladesh will participate in this conference for sharing latest knowledge and experience in the fields of information and communication technology.
The conference will start with an inaugural ceremony in the NSU auditorium at 9 AM on Sunday and end with a closing and award ceremony at 5:30 PM on Tuesday. It is expected that this conference.

Daffodil Polytechnic Institute stands first in skill competition 
The Wireless Electricity Transfer Systems, a project developed by the students of Daffodil Polytechnic Institute, has been selected as the best project at the regional level “Skill Competition 2016” competition organised by STEP, says a pres release. 
To enrich the quality of education and develop the creative sense of students STEP has initiated “Skill Competition 2016” and to make it really effective STEP has divided all Polytechnic Institutions in the country under 13 regions where total 54 projects from 18 Polytechnics in Region 2 took part. Competing with other 54 projects DPI students has achieved the top position. The winner of Region 2 will take part in the National Competition 2016. 

TSCC inaugurated amid festivity at RU
Shaeed Sukhronjon Somadder Teacher- Student Cultural Center (TSCC) has been launched for cultural activities around 7pm on Friday by releasing balloons at Rajshahi University (RU) marking the 46th Victory Day.
RU Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Mohammed Mizanuddin inaugurated the TSCC as the chief guest while Indian Assistant High Commissioner Abhijit Chattopadhyay  was present as special guest on the event. TSCC director Prof Dr. Nurul Mossadek Chauudhury conducted the programme while pro- vice chancellor Prof Chawduhry Sarwar Jahan gave welcome speech.
Somokal Natya Chakra’s former president and also TSCC directing member Saju Sarder, Champa Somadder wife of Shaeed Sukhronjon Somadder, proctor Prof Dr Mojubul Azad Khan, student adviser Prof Dr Mizanur Rahman, public relation officer Prof Dr Mosiur Rahman and several cultural activists, among others, were present on the occasion.

Victory Day celebrated at universities 
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU) and Gono Bishwabidyalay celebrated  Victory Day with due respects and solemnity and festive mood at their respective university campuses, say separate press releases. 
To mark the day an elaborated programme also chalked out on December16. The programmes were: hoisting the national flag and march past at dawn at BSMRAU, placing floral wreath at the university’s Bangabandhu’s Mural and Joy Bangla sculpture, Children’s art competition, sports and short film show. Prof Dr Md Mahbubar Rahman, Vice-chancellor of the university placed floral wreaths. Gono Bishwabidyalay also celebrated Victory Day on Sataurday. A discussion on significance of the day was held at the university auditorium on December 17. Prof Dr Md. Delwar Hossain, Vice-chancellor (Acting) of Gono Bishwabidyalay presided over the programme.  
Freedom Fighter Dr Nazim Uddin Ahmed, Trustee of Gonoshasthaya Kendra, Gono Bishwabidyalay’s Registrar Md Delower Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences Prof Dr Md Ashraf Ul Karim Khan; Dean, Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences Prof Dr M Nazrul Islam; Dean, Faculty of Physical & Mathematical Sciences Dr Anupama Azhari; Exam Controller Mir Murtoza Ali  addressed among others in the discussion. A cultural programme was also held under the direction of Music Director Enayet-A-Mawla Jinnah. A number of students performed songs, dance and recited poems.
