Substitute Nabib Newaz Jibon struck two sensational goals in the injury time to guide Abahani Limited to obtain crucial three points defeating Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by 3-2 in the JB Bangladesh Premier League football.

Held at the Bangabandhu National Stadium yesterday, in the five goals thriller Jewel Rana opened the net in the late hour of first half and Nabib Newaz Jibon scored two goals for Abahani while Darboe Landong and Emeka Darlington scored one each for Sheikh Jamal.
By virtue of obtaining three important points from the crucial encounter against the reigning champions Sheikh Jamal, Abahani Limited stretched their tally to go up in a safe side of leaving other rivals miles away from the race.
After the 20 matches Abahani remained unbeaten with 13 wins and seven draws and kept their solo lead with 46 points while the defending champions Sheikh Jamal suffered their sixth defeat.
In the keenly contested encounter, Abahani drew the first blood with Ariful’s right side cross inside the danger area but Jonathon failed to reach the ball on 12th minute.
Abahani, who had to play with their two vital performers, striker Sunday Chizoba and English play maker Lee Tuck, clearly reflected in their game organization and also scoring line, though Jonathon replaced Lee Tuck but could not play the role of his compatriot.
Jewel Rana, who scored one and set up another two for Jibon, made the breakthrough in the 43rd minute when he was very much desperate to head home the ball after Jamal defenders failed clear a free kick (1-0).
But Landing Darboe equalised the margin for Jamal with a powerful volley when Abahani goalkeeper Sohel failed to clear Linkon free kick on 48th minute (1-1).
After the 1-1 on 43rd minute it looked that the match was heading to a draw before Emeka bring back the excitement with scoring a nice goal to send Jamal into lead on 81st minute.
This time Malik Mendi dribbled past two defenders before making a brilliant chip which landed on a open space and Emeka ran faster and kept his cool to send the ball into net over the advancing goalkeeper Sohel (2-1).
The real excitement saw the match in the last three minute of the four minutes added time when substitute Nabib Newz Jibon scored two goals in a span of two minutes when he was replaced Emon Mahmud on 89th.
