LG IT Academy has started its journey aiming to facilitate the underprivileged children to have ICT education yesterday in JAAGO School at the capital’s Rayer Bazar area, says a press release.
The Academy aims at providing standard IT education to children and allow them to explore in enriched knowledge and science world.
Edward Kim, managing director of LG Electronics Bangladesh and Korvi Rakshand, founder and chairman of JAAGO Foundation, inaugurated the LG IT Academy by cutting ribbon. Head of Consumer Electronics of LG Electronics Bangladesh Mahmudul Hasan, Assistant Manager Md. Giyas Uddin and Senior Manager (Partnership & Branding Department) of JAAGO Foundation Nusrat Jarin were present on the inauguration ceremony.
LG Electronics Bangladesh and JAAGO Foundation have jointly established the LG IT Academy.
The academy is consisted of 20 computers, modern projector, internet services and others. A group of trainers will train children about using computer and information technology as well as child students can use computers independently.
In his speech Edward Kim said: “ICT has a significant effect on the people and environment that surround children’s learning and well being.
Different type of technologies offers new opportunities to strengthen many aspects of childhood education practice.
ICT can be an important way to educate children and to help them to grow up as world class citizen. LG IT Academy will facilitate the underprivileged children to have ICT education.”
