Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed yesterday said Palestine has sought economic support from Bangladesh alongside the exiting political cooperation, reports BSS.
“Bangladesh has been backing Palestine regionally and internationally since long in favor of realizing rights of its people . . . now Palestine has sought economic support from Bangladesh,” said the minister.
Tofail was speaking to media people after having a meeting with visiting Palestine Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki at his secretariat office.
Mentioning that bilateral trade is possible to be increased through discussion, the minister said the government would extend all out support if it is required.
Bangladesh exports nothing to Palestine, but import date, olive oil and stone in limited scale.
