Lalmonirhat: A farmer was shot dead by members of Indian Border Security (BSF) along Durgapur border in Aditmari upazila early yesterday, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Asaduzzaman, 23, son of Abul Hasan of Chowratari area of Durgapur union. Members of 100 Singimari BSF camp opened fire on Asaduzzaman when he went near border pillar no. 924 to bring cattle around 4: 30am, leaving him dead on the spot, said Lt Col Ahmed Bazlur of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Battalion-15. The BSF members also dragged away the body to their camp. BGB authorities sent a letter to BSF protesting the incident.
