KHULNA: Speakers here yesterday called upon authority concerned to ensure a drug and adulteration food free Khulna city, reports BSS.
They also underscored on action against unfit and license free and engine and battery run three wheeler vehicles for reducing road mishap as well as traffic jam free clean and green city. They were addressing at the monthly law and order meeting of Khulna district held at the conference room of Khulna deputy commissioner.
Khulna deputy commissioner Nazmul Islam presided over the meeting while parliament member of Khulna-2 constituency Mizanur Rahman Mizan addressed as the chief guest.
Upazila Chairmen, Additional police commissioner, Additional district magistrate, UNO’s, presidents of Khulna Press club and Khulna Union of Journalists and representatives of Khulna City Corporation (KCC), Border Guard of Bangladesh (BGB) and Rapid Action Battalion, among others, were addressed. The chief guest asked the official concerned to take security measures ahead of intellectual martyr day and victory day. The deputy commissioner asked the authority concerned and law enforcing agencies to evacuate footpaths after rehabilitation of hawkers.
The deputy commissioner Nazmul Ahsan said mobile courts will take action against illegal drug traders and food adulterers. Additional KMP commissioner said, a committee has been formed to free Khulna City from traffic jam.
The district election officer informed the meeting that all preparation has been taken to ensure a peaceful Khulna Zila Parisad election, schedule to be held on December 28.
