Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu yesterday called upon the country’s freedom fighters to uphold the true history of the country before the new generation as the nation had been conveyed distorted history of Liberation War after the assassination of Bangabandhu, reports BSS from Jhalakathi.
“After the independence, a dissonant was created among freedom fighters. Now the freedom fighters should be united again to uphold true history of the war of liberation and different achievements of the nation,” he told a rally of freedom fighters at the sadar upazila parishad auditorium here.
He urged the freedom fighters to practice the history of liberation war and instill the spirit of the war into young minds so that they cannot involve with any anti state activity.
Acting Deputy Commissioner Md Zakir Hossain, District Awami League President Sardar Mohammad Shah Alam and General Secretary Khan Saifullah Panir, Additional Superintendent of Police MM Mahmud Hasan, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Makbul Hossain and District Muktijoddha Sangsad commander MA Bayezid addressed the rally, among others, with Upazila parishad chairman Sultan Hossain Khan in the chair.
Earlier, the minister inaugurated ‘Vitamin A Plus Capsule’ campaign by feeding capsules among children at a kindergarten school in the district town. Over 1,00,000 children were given the capsules at 877 centers in four upazila and two municipalities in the district yesterday.
