Weeklong monodrama fest going on in full swing

Dhaka International Monodrama Festival 2016 is going on full swing on the premises of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in the capital. Today, as a part of the ongoing festival, theatre troupe Le Knock Theatre from Vietnam will bring its production ‘The Mistress of the Inn’ at the experimental Theatre Hall of BSA. 

Organised by International Theatre Institute (ITI) Bangladesh, the second edition of Dhaka International Monodrama Festival 2016 has been scheduled to take place simultaneously at the Experimental Theatre Hall and Studio Theatre Hall of BSA, until December 15. A total of 11 plays from four countries, including Bangladesh is being staged at the festival. 
Earlier on Thursday, Cultural Minister Asaduzzaman Noor inaugurated the festival at the Nandan Mancha of BSA. After the inauguration, the festival began with Pala Gan. Then, Natyacharch Kendra presented their play ‘Birangana Boyan’ at the Experimental Theatre Hall on the opening day after the inauguration. 
On Friday, on the second day of the festival, Drupadi Acting and Design School staged its play ‘Novera’, while Swapnadal brought their play ‘Helen Killer’ on stage on the same day.
Yesterday, an opera troupe from China staged ‘The Government Inspector’ and Sadhona staged ‘Sitar Agni Parikkha’.
 The upcoming plays of the festival are— ‘Ela Didi’ by Amta Parichay from Kolkata, Padatik Natya Sangsad’s ‘Gahanjatra’, ‘Helen’ by India’s Wings Theatre and Dhaka Theatre’s ‘Panchanari Akhyan’
