kill summit begins today
An international summit on skill development and decent work will begin in the capital today to develop human resources of the country.
The three-day conference on “Dhaka Summit on Skills, Employability and Decent Work-2016” will bring together the representatives of government, international organisations, owners and labours. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the summit at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the city, Farooq Ahmed, secretary general of Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF) said.

Death anniv of Bir Shreshtha Ruhul Amin observed
The 45th death anniversary of Bir Shreshtha Ruhul Amin, one of the seven greatest heroes of the Liberation War, was observed in the Khulna yesterday with a befitting manner.
Bangladesh Navy Khalishpur headquarters (BNS Titumir) and Rupsha Press Club chalked out elaborate daylong programmes which included recitation from the holy Quran, placing wreaths at the martyr’s graveyard, discussion meeting, milad mahfil, badminton tournament and prize distribution.
On the day in 1971, just six days before the victory, Ruhul Amin, Engine Room Artificer of Bangladesh Naval Ship (BNS) Palash, embraced martyrdom by the hands of Razakar Bahini (collaborators) on the river bank of Rupsha here as he reached the place after swimming nearly quarter kilometer on the river bank from Palash.

Training on E-file implementation held 
A day long training on E-file implementation was held at Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI) in Gazipur yesterday. 
More than 60 participants included divisional heads, section heads and officers of the institute participated in this training with the technical assistance by the Access to Information (A to I) programme of prime minister’s  office. Director General of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI) Dr Bhaggho  Rani Bonik, Director (Research) Dr Mohammed Ansar Ali, Director (Administration and common service) Dr Mohammed Shahjahan Kabir, Deputy Director (Administration and common service) Emran Hossain, consultant of A2I programme  Mohammed Khorshed Alam Khan spoked among others in the programme. 

20 ethnic minority women get govt grants
City office of Department of Social Service (DSS) has handed over government grants worth about Taka 5,000 each to 20 ethnic minority women for improving their living and livelihood condition.
The office organised a cheque distribution programme on its premises in Rajshahi city on Thursday. Social Worker Shaheen Akhter Rainy, former Deputy Director of DSS Mozammel Haque, college teacher Dr Azizur Rahman and social service officer Abdullah Al Firoj were present at the ceremony.
In his remarks, Mozammel Haque said the present government is very much positive about elevating the ethnic women and has been implementing time-fitting programmes for making them empower.

Meeting on Anti-Corruption Day held in Rangpur
Anti-corruption activists in Rangpur on Friday stressed on raising collective voice of the common people against corruption in line with spirit of the War of Liberation to build a corruption free society.
They expressed the opinion at a pre-rally discussion organised by the District Corruption Prevention Committee (CPC) on the Deputy Commissioner’s office premises in observance of the International Anti Corruption Day- 2016. The District Combined Office of Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) and RDRS Bangladesh under the Justice Reform and Corruption Prevention Project extended assistance in observing the day here as elsewhere in the country and globe as a whole.
