One held with 24 gold bars

UNB

Customs officials yesterday detained a passenger of a domestic flight from Chittagong at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka and seized 24 gold bars weighing 2.78 kilograms from his possession, reports UNB.
Sources at the Dhaka customs house said Sarwar Kamal of Cox’s Bazar boarded a Dhaka bound flight of Regent Airways from Chittagong Shah Amanat International airport yesterday morning.
The flight landed at Hazrat Shajalal International airport at around 8:00 am.
A customs preventive team challenged Sarwar when he was about to leave the domestic terminal of the airport and recovered the gold after searching his shoes, said Joint Commissioner of Dhaka customs house Sohel Rahman.
