Body of BCL leader Diaz exhumed for fresh autopsy

The body of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) central leader Diaz Irfan Chowdhurys exhumed in Chittagong University for re-postmortem yesterday morning.

The body was exhumed at around 7:30am in presence of his family members, Executive Magistrate (AC Land) Arifur Rahman, investigation officer of the case and Assistant Superintendent of Police of CID in Chittagong Wahidur Rahman and in charge of Chittagong University Police outpost Mukaddes Hossain.
We took primary report, for the fresh post mortem Diazs body is now being taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said ASP of CID Wahidur Rahman.  After finishing the post mortem, the body will bring to Chittagong to inhume at around 10pm, he said.
Meanwhile on December 6, a Chittagong court led by Shiblu Kumar Dey, Senior Judicial Magistrate of Chittagong directed the district magistrate to exhume Diaz’s body in the presence of an executive magistrate following a petition filed by CID seeking re-postmortem of the body. 
The court also directed the forensic department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital to form committee consisting three members in this connection.
Before this on November 24, the deceased’s mother lodged a murder case with a Chittagong court against around 20 people, including Anwar Hossain, Assistant Proctor of Chittagong University and CU BCL President Mohammad Alamgir Tipu.  Jaheda Amin Chowdhury, mother of Diaz, an employee of the university, filed the case with Chittagong Judicial Magistrate’s Court against 10 named accused and eight to 10 unnamed people.
The case was filed a day after Diaz’s family rejected the autopsy report that said the BCL leader committed suicide.
Mentionable on November 20, Diaz Irfan Chowdhury, central assistant secretary of BCL was found hanging with ceiling fan in his room at around 9:30pm. The first autopsy report of the body of Diaz submitted on November 23 mentioned that committed suicide.
