Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid yesterday said Islamic University of Technology (IUT) is making a significant contribution to expansion of technological education, reports BSS "We are sincerely working to achieve the target of 20 per cent students in the technical education. I hope IUT will supplement our efforts to promote technological education," he told the 30th convocation of IUT here.
Assistant Secretary General (science and technology) Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Chairman of governing body of IUT Dr Mohammad Sayeed Al Alam Jahrani and IUT Vice Chancellor Prof Munaz Ahmed Nur, among others, addressed the convocation, an official release said yesterday.
Nahid said, “You are fortunate to get the opportunity of studying in IUT as it has been recognised globally as a reputed university for technological education. I urge you to utilize this opportunity for building better careers in your professional life."
IUT is an educational and research institution
in Bangladesh run and funded by OIC. The main
objective of IUT is to contribute in developing the human resources of the member states of the OIC, particularly
in the fields of engineering, technology and technical
education.
