Rajshahi Kings skipper Darren Sammy said that they achieved what they wanted at the very beginning of the T20 tournament and now have to play the brand of cricket that will help them to be successful in the final.
“You know we’ve achieved what we wanted at the start of the tournament get to the play offs and make it through to the finals and for the guys played very well,” said Darren Sammy.
“It’s not a one man show, people said, we don’t have stars in our team but I always see as a team of stars,” Sammy told media.
“We’ve played truly like ‘Kings’ at one point of time we were down and out but we believed among the group that we would turn things around and we have done that I am really excited and proud of the way we played,” he added.
Sammy, who led West Indies to champion in World T20 in 2012 and 2016, said that they want to do it again what they did against Chittagong Vikings and Khulna Titans.
“We will have to do it again. Cricket is played on the day tomorrow,” the 36-year-old said, adding “History has nothing to do with it two things battling hard trying to win the cup for their franchise, we want it just as bad as they want it. At the end of the day we will have an exciting game.”
“I know Dhaka will have lot of support but some of our ‘Kings’ will be there they have been very vocal in the games. We have to play the brand of cricket that will help us to be successful, field well, bat better. We have one game left probably we are waiting for the finals to bring our best. Hopefully we can do that,” he also said.
