United Enterprise selected for 100MW Jamalpur project

United Enterprise and Company Ltd has been selected by the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) as the highest bidder for 100MW Jamalpur project.

The single bidder’s price was US$ 0.113196 cent per unit. Jamalpur project is capable of producing 100MW power electricity supply. 
According to BPDB, United Enterprise was the single bidder for the project as another interested group Intraco was disqualified by the BPDB committee.      
Eventually, 9 independent power producers (IPPs) are to be set up and that would generate 900MW of power.       
The Jamalpur 100mw project power selling financial offer was opened yesterday at the BPDB office. In this project the lowest power sale price to BPDB was offered by the Energies Company at 0.1003 US cent and second lowest was offered by Midland Power at 0.1042 US cent.
Sources said that the government officials were surprised after opening the single bid submitted by United Enterprise.
