With the recent establishment of the Yunnan Tourism Shopping Return Supervision Centre, the province has begun to implement a no-fuss return policy across its tourist industry. As long as four conditions are met, tourists and consumers can return goods if they do not like them or feel the prices were too high.
It is understood, this is the first time that a no-fuss return policy has been introduced in China’s tourist industry. According to the Supervision Centre’s working principle, consumers and tourists can call to return or change goods under the following four conditions: 1. The goods must be purchased less than 30 days ago. 2. The goods must be purchased in tourist shops certified by Yunnan province (currently there are 157 such tourist shops); and the return or exchange of goods purchased at other places will be handled by local consumer associations and administrative offices for industry and commerce. 3. The consumer or tourist can submit proof of purchase (an invoice or receipt issued by the shop).4.The goods must not be damaged.
